Kids Celebrating New Years Eve

December 18, 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR (almost)! While this is traditionally a party-night for adults, kids want to celebrate too! Whether you're staying in with your kids this year, or you're the babysitter for the night, we have some ideas to make it a fun, kid-friendly evening!

  • Depending on where you live, you might be able to watch the countdown from a different time zone, allowing you to celebrate with the kids a few hours earlier than midnight.
  • Talk about their favourite parts of 2013 - did they go on a trip? Start a new school? Introduce a new family member (sibling or pet)? Have older kids write down their favourite moments, or just draw them out.
  • Get inventive with noise makers to ring in the New Year - pots and pans, wooden spoons, musical instruments all work great!
  • Have a special dinner together and then play some games to keep the energy up!

What are your plans? Do you have a special tradition to celebrate with the kids?
