Hi there! My name is Kayla and I am an experienced and energetic home child care provider in my twenties. I have a very bubbly personality, and I always prioritize meeting children with compassion and excitement. I love being out in nature, facilitating crafts with kids, and am currently learning ASL which I find very enriching for my little friends to learn. I have experience working in professional kitchens and love to cook, create recipes, and eat! This provides lots of fun opportunities for cooking and baking with children. EDUCATION: I am currently in the fourth year of my Early Childhood Studies bachelor's degree at Ryerson/X University. I have always had a passion for working with children and am currently striving to become a kindergarten/elementary school teacher. During my program, I have been a placement student in a kindergarten, daycare, and EarlyON setting creating engaging learning opportunities for these children. EXPERIENCE: I have over 10 years of experience professionally teaching and working with children from infancy to 12 years old in various contexts including, schools, summer camps, and church environments. I hope to provide care to a child or children to help teach everyday skills while having a fun and enjoyable time based on their needs and interests. I am one who develops close bonds with the children and families I care for, so I am hoping my work with a family will be pretty long-term. COVID-19: Due to the current COVID-19 situation, I am currently enrolled in fully online courses making my schedule very flexible. Additionally, I keep my social circle very small and am extremely conscious of my exposure to others therefore I am only looking to provide aid to one family.
