Nanny in Windsor, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Personal Profile: I’m 19 years old. I love to read, draw, paint, crochet, and play clarinet. (you can expect to see a lot of arts and crafts from your children😉). I just finished my 1st year of university as a psychology major. I could apply what I learned in child development to my job. I was planning on getting my undergraduate degree in psychology and than attend teachers college in order to teach kindergarten-grade 2. I decided to discontinue my education at the university after I got employed at the daycare and fell in love with the job. I now attended St. Clair College for Early Childhood Education. I'm aiming to contribute my experience as a babysitter, and my current position as a preschool/ toddler teacher in a ECE centre. Services And Training: I am looking for a position as a full time live out nanny. Some of my responsibilities will include: play-date supervision, housekeeping, picking up/ dropping off from school (given it’s in walking distance, I unfortunately don’t have my G2), pet care, meal preparation, helping with homework, taking children to the park, and creating daily activities that help foster your childs development in all domains. That includes, social-emotional, fine motor, gross motor, language, and cognitive. I will do this using Ontarios ELECT document, a document that outlines developmental milestones based on age. My educational philosophy centres around play-based learning as the cornerstone of early childhood education, recognizing it as a fundamental way for children to learn, grow, and develop. Play allows children to explore, experiment, and engage with their environment, fostering their imagination, social relationships, and emotional well-being. Which is a key concept in Ontarios learning pedagogy, How Does Learning Happen? I believe in an emergent curriculum approach, drawing inspiration from Montessori and Reggio philosophies, which values children's interests and experiences as the foundation for learning. Reggio says “Children are competent and capable learners.” I remember that when educating. Children should be valued and have an active role in their education as they learn best when they are interested and engaged. Additionally, I prioritize social-emotional development as the most crucial domain of early childhood development, understanding its significance in shaping resilient, empathetic individuals. Through nurturing environments, responsive interactions, and intentional activities, I aim to support each child's holistic growth and prepare them for lifelong learning success. On top of this, I am comfortable working with children from the ages of 3 months- 12 years of age. I have lots of babysitting experience, I’ve also worked as a co-op employee at St. Rose Elementary school as a teachers assistant, and as I mentioned, I’m currently a preschool and toddler teacher.
