Nanny in Langley, British Columbia

My name is Alecsa, I am 25 years old, born and raised in Langley, BC. I have an older sister who now has 3 boys of her own who I love are care for as if they were my own children. Furthermore: a much younger brother who was the first real baby in my life. Since then my passion for babies and children has only grown. Over the last 10 years, I have been travelling around the world as an international model. Whilst doing so, using my free time to babysit or nanny. I have traveled to parts of Asia, Europe, South America, Australia, USA and Canada, which taught me to easily adapt to many different cultures and languages even though my primary and only language is English. Before I began traveling as a model I was training to become a ballerina. I trained 7 days a week and babysat on weekend evenings. At age 12 I traveled to Winnipeg to dance with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company. I am currently living at home in Vancouver with my boyfriend. We like to live a healthy lifestyle and spend time outdoors whenever the Vancouver weather allows us to. I started babysitting when I was 11 years old. I would babysit on weekend evenings or whenever my busy ballet schedule would allow me to. It was mostly for friends of the family and eventually would have their friends requesting me too. I started babysitting to make a little extra cash like any young babysitter does, but for me it was never like work as I always have had so much fun with children. Once I began to travel, I would spend many months in one city at a time, often having spare time so I began filling it with babysitting or nannying. Over the years I have worked with children of all ages ranging from newborn to 10 years old, twins, children with disabilities and even a family with 6 children. The most recent family I worked with was in Vancouver, primarily working with a new born baby till he was 9 months old but also caring often for their 2 year old as well. We only parted ways because the family goes away for the summer. Fortunately, I’ve never come into any major issue with the children, although I am certified in Emergency Childcare First Aid & CPR. When choosing the next family I work with I will just be looking for someone who I feel comfortable with. It is important to me that communication is easy for both sides, as I believe there is nothing more precious in life than someone’s children. I believe that I can be an added value to many families in their home life and in their children’s life because I understand how to be a support when necessary, but also when I need to step up while I am the sole caregiver to the children. I make a point to listen to the parents to have a strong understanding on what parenting styles they would like used on their children, examples being, eating habits, disciplining, T.V. or electronics allowance etc. I have patience that I am proud of, especially in the case of children. I try my very best to understand how their imaginative and developing young minds work which allows me to help them mature and grow in a positive way specific to that child. Growing up in a busy household I have learned how to best be of help without being in the way, which has allowed working in other peoples homes to come as a breeze. I always treat everybody homes and children as if they were my own. I am always happy to keep the house tidy, as I like to live and work in a clean environment and know that there is nothing better than coming home to a clean home and happy fed babies.
