Nanny in Mississauga, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
To Whom it May Concern, I am pleased to present to you my resume and cover letter for the position of a nanny job with your family. I have always had an interest in working with young kids, and have spent a lot of my spare time volunteering in a variety of positions that deal with either teaching kids, or being a guardian for a short period of time. I have completed my last year of high school and next year will be attending Ottawa University in pursuit of a BA with a specialization in Communication and a minor in Business Administration with the French Immersion stream. Right now, I serve as an assistant to a Councillor of Mississauga as a part of a co-op program. My strongest class during high school was English, and excelled particularly in oral presentations and debates. As such, I feel very confident when I interact with people I don’t know too well or have never met at all. Outside of school I teach and tutor kids, so I am regularly thinking of fun ways to keep their attention. I also have experience with planning and my organizational skills have bettered as such. With the Interact club at my school, for which I serve as the Vice-President, we hosted an event that raised $335, which we donated to build a well in Africa, as well as 280lbs worth of canned goods that we donated to a local food bank. I find great joy and satisfaction in the planning of events and will put in a lot of time into a project, knowing that the end result will make it all worthwhile. I have been to a number of winter camps, most memorably Muskoka Woods in my younger years. After my first trip with my school, I, along with three other students, was invited to come back the next year to be a counselor for the younger grades. This was an amazing experience and taught me how to communicate with kids, how to reach them on their level, and a lot of patience. That trip in particular made me realize that camp won’t always be a dream for the counselors, and that there will be struggles some times. The trip opened my eyes to the fact that that’s okay – my job is to ensure that the kids are having a great time. So at the end of the day, if I’m having a great time, it’s ideal. But if at any point I find my job a bit difficult, so long as the kids are enjoying theirs, I’m okay with that. It would be a privilege to join your family for a summer. I look forward to hearing back from you at your convenience regarding the possibility of a job. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Chelsea W. I have been placed as the temporary caregiver of kids on a number of different occasions. Most commonly, during events such as graduations or luncheons, I will be asked to take care of a number of kids (anywhere from 2 to 15). The children's ages have ranged from 2 years of age to 12 years of age. I also teach classes to a group of kids, whose ages range from 8-12, I have been a camp counselor at an overnight camp for middle-school children. Tasks have included playing with children, supervising them, disciplining kids by methods requested by the parents, and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for them. I have been a tutor for over four years, to kids ranging from 6 years of age to 16 years of age, so helping children with homework would be no problem for me. I would have no problem cooking, cleaning, and assisting with any other household chores.
