I specialize in providing short term relief and peace of mind for parents of infants and toddlers, that need a day or few hours break. I can also do regularly scheduled days. For two years I worked with the Infant Classroom team as an Early Childhood Assistant at Seaforth Cooperative Children's Centre. I am also a mom with grown children and really enjoyed raising and educating our children. I provided home childcare for several years independently and through Huron County Community Home Childcare program for 4 years, until the children I cared for began attending school then I started providing part-time nanny services. I love the flexibility of care as a nanny and being able to customize the day to meet the needs of the children I am caring for at the time rather then working within a framework that is one size fits all. I am health conscious. I love learning and independent study, I love crafts and art, outdoor activities and spending time with my family and grandkids. I love supporting a child's growth through play and discovery. Crafts, trips to the library, the park or beach can be a regular part of our day. I am willing to do light housekeeping and maintain a safe and healthy environment, and assume responsibility for the household in the parents absence. I believe in supporting parents in their role by providing instruction and discipline in accordance with parents practice. I am an excellent driver. I can provide references and a police check. I have taken continuing education, childcare related workshops and online childcare related courses such as Developing A Child's Critical Thinking Skills, Biting Hurts, ITERS AND ECERS, Infants in Childcare, and have experience working at a local cooperative childcare facility as an Infant Classroom Teacher as well as supply work in the Toddler and Preschool classrooms.
