Hi families! My name is Taylor, and I am passionate about supporting the growth, learning, & development of children. I got experience working with children as early as age 12 when I was a mother's helper for families in my neighborhood. I went on to babysit most of the neighborhood children for my teenage years and into my early twenties, caretaking children ranging from ages 4-12. I've lived off-grid and on the land for most of the last five years, and now that I'm back in a city again, I'm keen to be involved in something as fruitful as developing relationships with children and supporting the healthy balance of families. I know how important it is that children be exposed to positive influences that nurture their gifts, strengths, & empowerment. I also know how much a loving parent wants to invest in their children having the most ideal upbringing - meaning there is a balance demanded, and that sometimes requires the parent to be away from home so that they can support the desired lifestyle for their family. It is a great extension of trust to allow someone into your home and to have such close connection to your children’s upbringing, and not something I take lightly. I am well-prepared to do house keeping, meal (nutrition) planning/preparation, calendar planning/scheduling, vehicle transportation to/from activities, homework supervising, and planning educational/physical activities for the children and family. I see the potential in every child, and find great inspiration in their purity, curiosity, and inherently intelligent nature. I believe children have as much to teach me as I have to teach them. This makes working with children a highly rewarding experience that for me is not purely about supplementing my income, but even more about developing bonds, and growing to be a better human being through this. I feel fully invested in the children I work with, meaning I take my role beyond caregiver and into teacher as well. It gives me great joy to support the growth and learning of children. I also have a strong passion for movement, so (depending on children's age) I am keen to develop creative kinesthetic learning opportunities. As a highly kinesthetic learner myself, I am passionate about creating learning and experiential environments that cater to each child’s strengths and unique learning style. I am enthusiastic about the outdoors as well, and love to take children outside to get their regular fix of the benefits that time in nature gives us. I believe that when a child is exposed to a positive, stimulating, and supportive home environment, they are set free to shine in their unique ways, living a fully-expressed life. It is a pleasure and privilege to have the opportunity to be a part of creating such environments. I am available for between 30-40 hours per week, and can be flexible depending on your needs.
