Nanny in North Vancouver, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
If you are looking for a part-time nanny, I am ready to offer my skills and abilities to meet the needs of your family. Through working I have demonstrated my ability to: Be responsible and provide guidance: I have been working as a substitute care giver at the Raincoast Childcare Centre, a daycare, where I help supervise children ages one to five, and perform duties such as changing diapers, setting up for meals, and cleaning up afterwards. Be positive: I recently got to work as a substitute care provider at the North Shore Neighbourhood kids club for elementary students where I learned how to deliver positive instruction in the affirmative. For example, I would say "Please keep your hands to yourself," rather than saying, "Don't poke your friend." Engage children in age appropriate activities: I have experience assessing the abilities of children and planning activities according to their skill level. I worked as a soccer instructor at the Jason Haywood soccer school in the summer of 2005 and 2006, where I assessed the abilities of elementary students and altered drills according to their skill level. In addition to working, I have volunteered at the North Vancouver Recreation Commission's Parent and Tot program, where I enjoyed building connections with parents and children. I also helped supervise and encourage children at the Lynn Valley Summer Programs. A fond memory I have from there was when I helped a young girl who seemed less physically capable than her peers by encouraging her to cross a stream while stepping on the rocks jutting out of the water. In doing so, I discovered the joy of helping a child to develop her own abilities. To highlight some of my qualifications, I recently graduated from the Human Kinetics Diploma Program at Capilano University. I also have my High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification. The High Five, Principles of Healthy Child development course teaches students about children's needs, the role of caring leaders, and how to manage conflict in recreational programs. I also have my Standard First Aid CPR/AED level C certification. It would be a privilege to offer service to your family and I look forward to hearing from you!
