Nanny in Calgary, Alberta

I am a 40 year old single mother of 2 girls, 13 and 20 years old. I have worked in various areas of childcare for over 20 years. I have my early childhood education certificate from Sprott Shaw community college in BC, which is equivalent to level 1 (almost 2) in AB. I have worked in various settings implementing what I learned through planning and organizing curriculum, activities and projects for children ages 2-12. Work experience includes daycare centres toddler and preschool rooms, private dayhome at my home for up to 5 children 0-6 years old, before/after/full day (summer) care for school age children (boys and girls club), nanny for many families including 9 week old infant, twins 5 months old, 1-2 year old twins 3 separate families... if nannies had "specialties" mine would be twins and/or multiple children. I am currently nannying my 6th set of twins. I am very good at keeping a cool head in chaos, being patient and multitasking while caring for the many needs of many children at once while at home or out on adventures. Over the years I have cared for/experience in the following- colds, flu, asthma, lung/chest infections, unexplained random regular vomiting, post surgery care (2 weeks post op), post general anesthesia care, physical and developmental delays, allergic reaction to insect bites, training (many years ago) in type 1 diabetes and use of epipen. In past jobs I have attended/assisted parent with immunizations and regular doctor appointments, as well as chiropractor and physiotherapy sessions. I have also independent taken children t for immunizations, check ups, dental and eye appointments, physio appointments etc. My previous job included transportation to and from activities including kindergarten, preschool, weekly group physiotherapy, swim/dance/gymnastics etc lessons. I most enjoy working with newborns, infants, and/or twins under 2. I find satisfaction and enjoyment in staying busy taking loving care of babies and I like to think along with my personality and experience I am very good at it. My favourite activities with children are reading books, going to the library, going outside daily, puzzles, arts and crafts and dancing/music. I absolutely support no screens for children during my work days.
