Hello families, It's very nice meet you. My name is Mary, and am in search for an opportunity to work for a family. As an experienced Early Childhood Assistant and Nanny, I have grained a wealth of experience working with children in early childhood settings in particular at Kids & Company and to a network of families here in Toronto. Being an Early Childhood Assistant was a wonderful yet challenging experience that I very much valued. My role was helping ECE teachers in different rooms, attended and cared to children ages newborn in infant room to school-aged. Having worked at Kids & Company, many challenges arose and found that teamwork is a significant factor when working with children and strong communication skills comes hand to hand. As part of a day care staff, these experiences have been extremely valuable in addition to my educational background. Along with my experiences as a nanny, I have gained a wealth of lessons thought by all the children and private families I had worked for. I have a tremendous love for children and passion working with children of any age and place a high standard on respecting them especially younger ones and their unique personality. I believed in teaching children through play and guiding and letting them explore their surroundings at their own pace and allow each child to develop their potentials as they discover the world around them. Mary L is a lovely, warm person and over the years she has become a part of our family. I could not recommend her more! Mary looked after my son from age 10 months- 2,5yrs. The two of them became best buddies and I had no worry in the world knowing that Mary was looking after him. Mary was happy to follow my guidelines in preparing baby food for my son (as a new mother I was somewhat obsessed with following recipes from baby cookbooks) and she also introduced him to delicious and healthy meals from her childhood. She would read to him and play and take him outside, rain or shine, because we felt it was important for the boy to go out every day. Mary's kind demeanor, and previous experience from daycare placements, meant she dealt with toddler crises in a calm and engaging manner. After we placed our son in daycare (although Mary proactively organized playdates in the neighbourhood, we felt that our son was ready for socializing with a larger group of kids), Mary would continue to babysit for us well into my son's boyhood. By the time we had our second son, Mary had other jobs, but she would always find the time to come and visit and also babysit both boys. As you can see, I can only wholeheartedly recommend Mary as a nanny! Do not hesitate to call me if you need further information.
