Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

I am writing to express my interest in a position as a nanny for your family. As a member of the CHEO volunteer team since 2007, I have a passion for working in a team environment and with children. In addition to my volunteer involvement, I have two years of experience as a personal support worker. I have several years of experience working with children in many different settings such as working as a nanny, camp counsellor, and coaching. I have completed three years of human kinetics and am currently enrolled in the University of Ottawa’s nursing program, with hopes of working at CHEO in critical care or rehabilitation. I am aware of the fast-paced environment of the hospital setting, and believe I would be an asset to your family. As a member of the CHEO volunteer team, I have worked in this environment in several units including 5E, 4E, 4W, and the NICU. I also have experience working on preventative measures to decrease infections, as well as informing families of their preoperative responsibilities. Lastly, I volunteered with CHEO’s outpatient mental health programs, facilitated by Dr. Bennett and Joanne Colas. My role in this setting was to organize the volunteer schedule for the 9-week program, provide child mild minding, and to assist the facilitators as necessary. In 2015, I was the recipient of the CHEO Volunteer Association Scholarship. Subsequently, these experiences have contributed to my ability to bring a certain level of energy, compassion, optimism and assertiveness any job requires. As my enclosed resume will demonstrate, I have extensive experience leading teams, collaborating with others, and multitasking while maintaining the highest level of standards. I am a hard worker and am able to communicate with people in a calm and flexible nature. With my current First Aid, CPR Certifications, and my additional a hospital background, I am certain I could be an integral part of your team.
