Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
It has been my objective to harness and cultivate my ability to connect with children; expand upon my experiences within the childcare field and to take my Nanning career to the highest level. I have been blessed to be the eldest of a large extended family and have always possessed an innate nurturing demeanour, which has served me well. I find it most rewarding to work with children and it is my intention one day to teach art, yoga and other forms of creative expression to assist with early year development, with a particular focus on helping those with learning disabilities. I have always been sports inclined and feel that sporty activities, not only rapidly develop balance and coordination in a child but it builds confidence, a sense of fairness, discipline and sets more readily an understanding of boundaries and rules. I have found it an invaluable approach to Nanning. My immediate focus, however, is to gain as much experience working with families from different parts of the world gaining knowledge of the many alternate approaches to raising children which are influenced by culture, religion and personal beliefs. Since beginning my career as a nanny I have worked with children from as young as 5 weeks old to teens of 14 – 15 years of age. I have a wealth of knowledge with a wide variety of ages and can honestly say I am confident working with any age group. I am kind, patient and a very active person. I have travelled the world as a nanny/PA for families from many different walks of life, for the past 8 years. I believe in leading from example and always have a positive, can do attitude. Having respect for those around you and yourself is a must. Independent Nanny; Val d'Isere, France. December 27th, 2012 - April 21st, 2013. This was a full time temporary position working for families on vacation in the mountain resort of Val d’ Isere. I would coordinate a week worth of a wide range of fun filled winter activities tailored to each charge according to age and ability. Each day would include an outdoor activity such as building a winter village of snowmen and igloos to sledging; and an indoor activity of arts and crafts relating to the mountain environment or baking, to name a few. On rare occasions I would be asked to take the children snowboarding. Each child at the end of their week would be presented with a portfolio of their projects and a virtual diary filled with photos of their week in the mountains. Reason for leaving: End of Season.
