Hello! My name is Maddison. I am a 20 year old Criminal Justice student at Camosun College. Ideally, I\'d like to be able to work with at-risk youth one day. I have spent over half of my life being surrounded by, taking care of or babysitting children. I hate to brag, but I have yet to come across a child that does not like me! When I was younger I was rather indifferent to children since they were constantly \"getting in the way\" of things, it wasn\'t until my twin brother and sister were born two years ago that I felt the true, unconditional, irreplaceable love I believe most parents feel when they first hold their first born. Raising them for the first year of their lives really opened my eyes. Although it was incredibly difficult at times I would never take it back. Not only was I watching them grow, but I was growing as well. Children can be so complex but in the right safe and loving environment, more often than not they will work with you. (I\'m sure you\'ve noticed they also tend to behave better for others ;)) I would love to be able to learn from your children and help them feel safe and cared for! For the first 15 years of my life my mother owned a daycare, I helped her QUITE a bit with the regular duties such as playing with the kids, feeding them, getting them down for nap, etc. Their ages varied from newborns to 6 years old. Because she was a single mother and I am the oldest, I also helped a lot with raising my two younger brothers. Finally, when I was 18 my mother unexpectedly became pregnant with twins. I helped her all day and night after they were born and when they were 6 months old she had to return to work so, I nannied them all day every day for bout 9 months. I am now going to college but I still watch them on Saturdays and I recently started volunteering at the Young Parents Support Network as a childminder.
