Throughout my career, I have fallen in love with working with children. After relocated to Toronto from the states, I worked in a private in home setting with 3 children, 2 of which had special needs. I attended to their daily life skills, but also created and implemented programs based off of their individual strengths and interests to help brighten their future. I was fortunate enough to spend 5 years working with children and adolescents, prior to relocating, in a behavioral health setting. This included youth from a multitude of different backgrounds who had been diagnosed with various mental health illness and/or behavioral challenges. I was taught a multitude of lessons on patience, building trust, and individuality. I pride myself on being creative and flexible which allows me to find the perfect way to reach the youth I work with which often includes incorporating their own interests and creating/maintaining a positive relationship.
