Nanny in Vancouver, British Columbia

Dear prospective families and children, I am delighted to apply for the opportunity to be a Nanny for your family. I am a fully registered teacher with a Bachelor of Education Primary/Early Years and a Diploma of Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care). I have a genuine love for children and feel privileged to work with them, celebrating the wonder of childhood. It is my deep desire to nurture a love of learning in the children in my care, which in turn will equip them with life-long skills and values. I have a firm understanding of children’s formative development, social and emotional competence and early literacy and numeracy. I believe that children in the formative years learn best through natural hands on experiences that are self-directed and allow for individual exploration, experimentation and construction. As an individual, I am passionate about living a healthy and active lifestyle and love working and spending time in nature. I also have a real love for cooking, hiking, camping, travelling, singing, music and art. I am currently living and working on a Ranch as a camp counsellor and activity leader. I am looking for a Nanny position in the fall, I am available to start in September. I have spent time in Victoria and believe it would be a wonderful environment to care for children as there as some many wonderful opportunities for different experiences. I am confident about transferring my skills from a centre/school setting to a home environment as I previously work as Nanny for a family with three children (aged 3 months, 2 years and 4 years old) in England. In my role I gained experience in organising age appropriate activities that extend each children’s interests and development. I also support and assisted with care, hygiene and bed time routines. I organised engaging play dates that support children development and facilitate social interaction and development. As a Nanny I will work collaboratively with parents, children and colleagues to provide quality education and care. I will use my creativity to design educational experiences that extend the children’s interests and provide new opportunities for learning. I will confidently use my personal proficiencies to support and cater to the physical needs of the children, family and household including cooking, cleaning and organisation. I will utilise my knowledge, skills and experience to care for and educate children holistically. As a part of their holistic care I will implement my knowledge of healthy eating to provide nutritious and balanced meals. I have a firm understanding of behaviour management and have gained extensive experience in developing respectful, fair and consistent approaches.
