Dear Families, For as long as I can remember, life has been about helping people. I used to set out my daddy\'s Corn Flakes, set the table for dinner, and bag other people\'s\' groceries while mom waited in line at the store. I have grown into a Mary Poppins - rosy cheeks and all! I grew up with an older brother and two parents and a cat in a Toronto suburb. I was involved in dance, music lessons, Girl Guides and school councils. I took every opportunity to be involved in school and make friends. As a result, I am immediately amicable and enthusiastic. I learn quickly and adapt to new surroundings. My first degree is from the University of Toronto in Food Politics, Health Studies (specifically mental illness), and Psychology. My second degree is from the University of King\'s College in Journalism. Here I learned to be resilient, to persist and to use my curiosity as a tool for self-improvement and to seek the truth. I also learned to be punctual (the 6 o\'clock news goes at 6....not 6:01 pm so you have to show up with something!) and to think on my feet. Now, I am pursuing my life-long dream of teaching. I do teach yoga and have worked as a personal trainer. Being a teacher allows me to draw out what is naturally inside all of us by asking questions and using experience as a guide. I believe in continual growth and in going outside of one\'s comfort zone to achieve this. I bring joy and laughter wherever I go. I am known for my kindness and \"surprise and delight\" acts. I have worked in customer service my entire life and developed patience and a gratitude for people as they are. I can handle a crowd while making each person feel noticed at the same time. I have equanimity and a peaceful state of mind. This is sustained by my yoga practice and my love of nature. I believer that people may forget what you do, but they will always remember how you make them feel. Thus, I endeavor to make every person I meet feel loved and cherished. Because we all are. I will be happy to meet you. Jennie I have cared for children most of my life. First, as a baby-sitter, then as a "step-in parent" while the real parents were away on business, and finally, as a full-time nanny. I have done everything from cooking and cleaning, to homework help and mitigating sibling disputes. I've done over-nights and been on-call. I play games, sing songs, do crafts and go on field trips. I prepare meals and get the kids involved at every step of the way. I believe in a house filled with music and laughter, a place where any question is okay and television is turned off (I do allow the food network....it's why I love to cook!). I am okay if kids invite their friends over and I am okay with getting messy myself! I love animals and being outside so I capitalize on opportunities to pursue these. **You will notice that my profile is without Facebook or other social media. While I have an account, it is largely inactive. I use my computer little, giving preference to phone, in-person, or old-fashioned snail mail!
