Nanny in North Vancouver, British Columbia

I am a mature person with many years of experience supporting children of all ages. I raised 4 children of my own, 2 daughters and 2 sons. My sons are twins and 1 had special needs of having Aspergers, that falls under the autism spectrum. All my children have achieved post secondary education and are successful in their chosen careers.Throughout the years, I was a very supportive Mom and took great delight and pride in seeing them develop and become successful, contributing young people. I worked as an Elementary Special Education Assistant in the BC school system for 16 years and have tutored children at their homes and mine for the past 14 years. I have a diploma in Special Education from the Capitano University and many other specialty courses used in supporting children and their development. I retired in June of 2014, but from March 2015 till now have supported a 79 year old woman with dementia and Alzheimers in her home. I am very physically active and have a wide variety of interests. I enjoy the outdoors, reading, music, cooking, sewing, crafts and camping, I also studied classical ballet for 25 years and taught little ones for 2 years. Whenever I can, I try to use these interests to broaden the horizons and create activities for any children I'm involved with. Presently, I'm a volunteer at an ESL tutoring outreach program through St. John's Church and Capitano University. I also voluntarily tutor an individual through the North Shore Neighbourhood House in Math and provide a social component. As employment, I tutor 2 elementary school aged boys at my home and couturier sew on the side. At present, I'm looking for part-time employment in my residential area of North Vancouver. I was raised and have spent the majority of my adult years in North Vancouver. I am able to provide letters of recommendation.
