Nanny in Bayfield, Ontario

Hi! My name is Laurel, I love working with children! I live in Bayfield and want to care for your children. I have experience caring for children and adults of a variety of ages ranging from 1 year of age to 32. I have previously been a volunteer in a preschool for special needs children, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, and worked as a Direct Support Person through Extend-A-Family of Waterloo Region. In 2019, I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Research Specialty. I graduated from University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. My specialty area was the Advanced Studies in the Psychology of Achievement, Inclusion, & Mental Health. My dream is to become a teacher for either primary or junior grades and I am currently working as a supply teacher in the Avon Maitland District School Board. I have previously worked for a family, picking up their two children from school three days a week and making them dinner before the parents arrive home. On nights when the children have sports or activities, I occasionally provide transportation. Last summer, I cared for these children all day on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Prior to the pandemic, I provided care for two beautiful little girls, 1 year old and 2 years old, at least one evening a week. I have accompanied them to swimming lessons with their mother as well as prepared food and bottles, changed diapers, performed bedtime routines, but most importantly, I kept them safe while having fun! I am looking for weekend work during the school year or potential summer jobs that would be 30 hours a week starting as soon as possible to the end of August. I have my own vehicle and I am trained in CPR Level C as well as Standard First Aid. I look forward to hearing from you!
