Howdy! I’m Haven (they/them pronouns) I am a preschool teacher at Reggio Early Learning Centre and am looking to help out a family part time until our facility is able to reopen in our new location in September. I am an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA), First Aid & CPR certified, have a clean driving record and am able to provide transportation in my well maintained vehicle. I’ve got 5 years nannying/family helper under my belt and am very comfortable with newborn and infant care. Prior to moving to the island in 2018 I attended 2 years of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Queen's University and readily draw from my skills learnt at that time. I am a committed and lifelong learner; I am passionate about furthering my education in child psychology and development, early education, and co-creating inclusive environments. I have a deep appreciation for nature and am feel most grounded when outdoors; this respect for the beings of the world is a core principle of my teaching and care style. When my beloved dog and I aren’t out hiking, I am typically found at home with a crochet hook and some yarn in my hands!
