Nanny Job in Halifax, Nova Scotia

We are a family in Halifax Nova Scotia (Clayton Park), looking to hire a nanny primarily for our boy (16 months in June). The position starts end of May/beginning of June and goes to September, with potential extension into Fall. Hiring for summer is our main focus right now and we are looking for a few hours weekly and full time in the two weeks in July when the boy’s home daycare is on holiday. Hourly rate is negotiable, starting at $20/ hour, based on experience. Main responsibilities include: feeding our kid, engaging him in age appropriate activities, indoor and outdoor play, walks etc Having a vehicle and willingness to drive are not mandatory but are preferred, as these may open up activity options not within walking distance. We are expecting another baby end of June. While the main responsibilities for this position are in regards to our toddler, experience and comfort with infants is a bonus. The position does not require watching two kids at once, as I will be home on mat leave. However, ability and willingness to occasionally hold the newborn or change her while the toddler naps or while I do an activity with him would be very welcomed, as would willingness to do light housework when not playing with the toddler. We have a cat and a dog so the person hired will need to be comfortable around pets, even though no significant pet care is needed. CPR training and references from other families are ideal.
