Hi! I'm Mikayla, a 28-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta and I'd love to tell you a little bit about myself. I've been caring for children on and off for the past 10 years through a variety of roles, and one thing that has always remained true is that I genuinely love working with kids. Whether we're spending time outdoors, creating crafts, playing games, exploring a local park, helping with homework, or simply tackling everyday routines together, I enjoy creating a fun, supportive, and engaging environment where children can thrive. My professional background is in Recreation Therapy, and I hold a degree in the field. Throughout my career, I've worked in healthcare, rehabilitation, and community settings supporting individuals of all ages and abilities, including those with specialized physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. These experiences have taught me patience, adaptability, creativity, and the importance of meeting each individual where they're at. I believe every child and every family is unique. I'm happy to assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, errands, household organization, pet care, and the everyday tasks that help busy families feel more supported. As someone who loves staying active, you'll often find me outdoors walking, hiking, exploring parks, swimming, or finding creative ways to keep children engaged. I believe children learn best when they're having fun, feeling supported, and experiencing the world around them. I also have experience providing trusted pet care and understand that pets are important members of the family too. While my First Aid and CPR certifications have lapsed since my time working in healthcare, I would be happy to become recertified for the right family if needed. I am currently seeking a long-term, flexible, part-time nanny or family assistant position beginning as soon as September 2026. My husband and I will be moving to the Uplands area of southwest Edmonton this Fall, and I would love to connect with families close by. I am open to daytime care, after-school support, occasional evenings, and family assistant roles. My rate starts at $25 per hour, depending on responsibilities and your family's needs.
