In addition from anything that has previously been mentioned, I am currently working on a Psychology major and potentially stepping up to a Psychology-Biology double major. With that degree, I have always hoped to follow a career path working with children. I have grown up going to RKY Summer Camp on Eagle Lake. Since completing both the Leader-In Training and Counsellor-In-Training Programs as a camper, I have worked there over the past 4 summers in a variety of different positions. I began as a group counsellor for multiple summers while also spending multiple sessions as a one-on-one counsellor working with children with special needs. I then returned last summer to be the Boating Area Head, which, while technically being a "non-counselling" position, remains to be extremely camper-focused and involved. Outside of camp I have spent a number of years working for hockey goaltending schools, instructing young goalies. More recently, during a 6-month volunteer, cultural exchange with Canada World Youth, I spent time working with children at a dance studio in Whitehorse (where I was the one learning from them), as well as helping out at an orphanage while in Ukraine. In a more casual setting, I have babysat for family members and family friends over the years.
