Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I have been working with children for 12 years now, starting at a home daycare, where I worked for 5 years. There I learned so much and worked with many different families. My duties included preparing snacks/meals, general cleanup, diaper changing/potty training, going on outings(to parks/on walks, playing outside),reading, arts &crafts and teaching the little ones. I have cared for children ranging from 3 months to 11 years old. I eventually decided I wanted to work more one on one with parents their children. It was here my duties expanded to laundry, general housekeeping, organizing social events, extra curricular activities and meal preparation for the children. I have worked with 3 families since my daycare days, the first 2 being only a few months with each family to see that this was really the path I wanted to take and the last being my longest. I have been with the current family for nearly 6 years but come August it will be time for me to move on as the children are older and no longer need me. It will be a big change but I am excited for the opportunity to start over and share all I’ve learned with new families! I try to spend a lot of time outdoors, going for walks, exploring nature or to a playground. I find that kids have the most fun and the best learning experiences outside! Local library programs and indoor play drop ins are also great, what we do may depend on the area we are in but there is always something fun to be discovered! I love art myself and am always tinkering with different mediums and doing DIY projects on my spare time, so it only makes sense that I include that in my work. I love to see the creative side of children and the happiness and pride they express while being crafty! I can provide a list of references and a couple of letters or recommendation upon request.
