I am extremely passionate about working with kids. I know how to respond to a child\\\'s needs and know how to keep them entertained for hours. I feel my background with kids allows me to address specific activities the child might like and it has taught me how to get on the level of the child and listen to them and what they want while also maintaining a level of discipline when needed. My University degree has also taught me how to maintain composure and to examine why the child might be acting in a particular way and how to deal with it. It has also allowed me to see the importance of caring, and compassion when dealing with children and to encourage literacy and education as well as an active lifestyle. I have experience working with kids of all ages and am really energetic and enthusiastic when I am working with kids. I have extensive experience dealing with kids in various age groups ranging from 6-15. I have volunteered at After School Programs, Breakfast Programs as well as being involved in mentoring and Classroom Support for a Grade Two Class. I supervised children as well as developed activities for them, provided nutritious meals and taught them to read and how to add and subtract.I was responsible for ensuring the children\\\'s safety as well as engaging the children in educational and fun activities. I have been volunteering with kids for 9 1/2 years and worked with children for about 2 years acting as a Tour Guide for an educational program at Mohawk College as well as babysitting for my neighbors when needed. I know how to deal with situations and to not overreact in a situation. I enjoy working with kids and it has always been a fulfilling experience for me.
