Deborah has been a outstanding babysitter for Sitter 604 since early fall 2017. Currently, she is actively working with 10 families, of which two have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As the babysitting work for Sitter 604 and its families does not only centre around children, but also around family and home, babysitters are required to have an array of skills to meet care requests. Deborah is an exceptional person and caregiver that uses all of her experience and passion for children to provide the best care and support she can for each family. The care and attention she provides for children is focussed on development and the individual needs of each child, adapting when and where required. She helps with school work, teaches and encourages life skills, and uses opportunities to explore and spend time outside. She reads, does crafts and plays with children to ensure elements of fun, learning and play surround each activity. Deborah engages with parents, listening to and executing the type of care each family is requesting. She respects, follows and enforces family rules. She cooks and gives snacks according to the wishes and directions of parents. As well, she does light household chores when asked. In the home, she ensures that children are in a safe space to play and do activities. When transitioning from one activity to another she encourages and teaches children to tidy up.
