Nanny in Amherstburg, Ontario

Hello families, My name is Kylie and I have been working with children for many years, though most was through volunteer work, and am looking to increase my experience. I believe myself to be a positive a caring person who listens well and can follow direction. Currently I am in College and therefore need to work around my school schedule. I am in the Child and Youth Worker Program and am entering my second year. I have worked with children many times before. When babysitting I looked after 2-3 children at once who ages were between 2-11. For them I helped clean up, cook simple meals, played games, and assisted with homework. In High School I took a coop placement at the John McGivney Childrens Center in Windsor. I was there for five months and assisted children with physical and learning disabilities in school work and helped them perform physical activities in gym class. At a summer camp in 2011 I worked as a Camp Councillor. When working there i looked have groups of 4-24 children, (with groups of over 12 children I generally had a partner)The ages of the children were between 5 and 12. My duties were to make sure they were following the curriculum in the morning hours and in the afternoon I had to supervise them in the pool and plan group activities each day. Along with these I had to settle any disputes within my group and take care of any injuries(all were minor injuries). My field placement from the college sent me to St. Anthony's Elementary School. There I worked with children ages 4-12. There I planed Art and Gym classes in which I then taught them to the classes. I assisted the students with learning disabilities, along with ones who just needed a little extra help, with their school work, mainly Math and Language Arts. For the last two years I was a junior leader for the Harrow Scout Beavers. The children were between the ages of 5-7 and were in a group of 2-8 at a time. There I helped prepare snacks and plan activities for them.
