My name is Emma Thompson; I am currently a first year student at Carleton University studying General Sciences with a focus on Psychology. Currently, I am volunteering at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Center as a music assistant for the arts and have volunteered at many other organizations like the Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity, the Promotions Committee at Rogers Cup in Toronto and taught children, on my own time, vocal lessons. I was employed as a Sales Associate at Old Navy and worked as a Camp Counsellor for the City of Pickering. I've been told many times that I am a great care taker for children because of my bubbly personality, ability to relate and communicate with children and develop relationships with them in ways where they can be comfortable with themselves and with me. I have worked with children who have minor to severe disabilities, and am able to cope and have patients with children who may put up a difficult time. Coming from a hard working family, I show a lot of enthusiasm, passion and leadership. I am a quick learner and easily solve problems whenever there is one that may come up. From having a lot of responsibilities with children, I have patients and definitely understand the meaning of people skills, especially when it involves more challenging people.
