Hello! My name is Sydney. I am a University student going into my third year at UOttawa. I am studying communications and sociology and plan on doing a masters when I am finished. I aspire to work in the mental health field, specifically with adolescents. I practice mindful meditation daily and believe children can benefit too! I absolutely love learning everything my program has to offer and feel very fortunate for the opportunity to attend University. I am originally from Toronto but moved to Ottawa for school. I am a little ways from home and have a lot of extra love to give. I have always loved children, and I thought that this would be a perfect way to earn money while taking a summer class. As mentioned I am going into my third year and will be in Ottawa for the very least 2 more years. I am open to a long term arrangement, that said, my course load will thicken come September but I am always open to comparing schedules and working something out. I am very quick to respond to emails and even quicker to texts and phone calls (my phone occasionally needs to be dialled twice in a row). I hope by being easy to reach and open to different schedules that you find my profile attractive. I have been babysitting since I was in middle school, up until this past year. I have taken care of infants (under 12 months) up to children that are 12 years old. I have taken care of multiple children at one time as well as pets. I have helped the kids I have looked after with their homework, always with patience and understanding. I have cared for one families child on a weekly basis for an entire year. I have been responsible for pick up and drop offs to extracurricular activities and school (always on time). I try to keep children away from the screen and into the fresh air, as my parents did with me. I try to bring as much imagination and creativity to any game or activity I am doing with your child. I love to see children speak their minds and express who they are. I am experienced, responsible and open to answering any questions you may have.
