Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Dear family, My name is Alina and I am from Ukraine. I grew up in a teachers' family and this may be the reason why I also decided to work with kids. After graduating from the university I have worked at elementary schools and kindergartens for 15 years, so I am experienced in taking care of children of all ages, from infants to preteens. Moreover I also spent my free time with kids. I have been working as a nanny in the families for the last several years. I used to take care of kids of 3 to 11 years old. In 2015-201... I worked as a nanny for a Swiss family with 4 children (2 boys, 3 and 4 years old respectively, and 2 twin-girls of 7 y. o.). I woke up at 6 am and cooked the breakfast. I woke the girls up at 6:45 am. They had breakfast, washed up, brushed their teeth and dressed up. I made up their hair, prepared school breakfasts and water, and packed their knapsacks. I woke the boys up at 8:35 am. They ate breakfast, washed themselves, brushed the teeth and dressed up. I prepared school breakfasts and water, and packed their knapsacks too. I helped to put on their outer garments (then I put on my outer garments) and dropped off the children at the school. After coming home I washed the dishes, clean the children’s rooms, did the washing and ironed the children’s clothes. I picked the children up from school at 11:30. Kids ate a lunch and had some rest. The girls came back to the school at 3 pm and the boys visited swimming/tennis classes or played outdoors under my direct supervision. After school, girls visited the sport classes too (tennis or swimming classes) or went to the music school. After classes we came back home, I made a dinner and helped the girls to do their homework. Furthermore, I made up some home tasks for the boys. Afterwards, we packed the knapsacks and prepared the clothes for the next day, I helped kids take a bath and they went to their rooms. Then children watched some cartoons or kids’ movies and listened to the fairy tales in audiobook format. Girls read and repeat the multiplication table before bed. We walked a lot, went on the excursions or visited interesting places at the weekend. That was my usual schedule. However, there may have been some changes when one of the children got sick or they participated in concerts or other shows. Also, the family has a dog named Snow and the walk and bathe it under my supervision. Since 2017 I have been working for a Ukrainian family with two children: a boy Matthew (3 years old) and a girl Daria (4 years old). My duties are: I come to work at 7 am and make breakfast for kids. Then they wash up, brush their teeth, I help them to pack and we go to kindergarten. Right after that I come back to the apartment, clean up, do the washing, iron and make lunch. I pick up the children from kindergarten at 12.30. After having lunch, we go to dancing and gymnastics classes with Daria and to football classes with Matthew. Also we go for a walk and play developmental games. After dinner we wait for mum and I go home. I am able to do many tasks a day, and my secret is I always plan everything. Besides, I am a fast learner by nature, and I do everything quickly and effectively. I am a cheerful and positive person and I guess, that is the main reason why children never get bored with me. Also I know a lot of games and more importantly, I know how to make a boring task a funny one. I play piano, sing, draw, make handmade things and teach children to do that. Moreover, I have an individual approach to the child, and at the same time I pay close attention to the whole group of kids. The secret of my successful work in the area is that I really enjoy being with kids, and I have fun playing with them, and the kids feel it. Also, I am always delicate, and I give the kids advice and am supportive and cheering like when you help an adult. The kids like when they are treated like equals. Besides caring for kids, I do perform household duties. In my previous job I also washed dishes, ironed, cooked, cleaned up and also took care of pets: dogs, cats. But my first priority was always the childcare. I will be able to work in Canada and I will get hope for a better future. That's why to say I will be thankful doesn't even begin to quantify the depth of my gratitude. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours sincerely, Alina
