My name is Harmony, I have been working with children in many different settings over the past 18 years. From babysitting to working as a camp counselor & art teacher, to au pairing abroad and now nannying & teaching farming, gardening, plant medicine and art to to adults & children primarily in outdoor settings & on the farm I help manage part-time. For me, encouraging connection, curiosity and creativity are foundational in my approach to teaching and childcare. I am enthusiastic, nurturing and fun. I have a deep passion for sharing knowledge and encouraging growth. My philosophy for working with children stems from Magda Gerber's RIE approach in respectful parenting as well as coyote mentoring techniques. Essential perspectives in my nanny practice include free movement, following the child's cues, empathetic listening & connection-based communication as well as simplicity ( limited "screen time" & reducing electronic stimulation). I am looking to enrich a families' life with supportive guidance, nurturing connection, herbal medicine, nutritional awareness as well gently supporting a family in establishing rhythms and rituals. Educational Background: I am a farmer & herbalist with a background In Visual Arts and Education. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with minors in Education, Environmental Studies & Family Psychology, as well as Chemistry and Ancient Civilizations
