Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

Available for after school and evening baby sitting. And can do Saturday day/evenings. My name is Sandie, and I grew up in large family, where taking care of my younger siblings became seccond nature to me. I was always the neighborhood go-to baby sitter. After highschool, I worked in France as a nanny to 6 children, and did a little tutoring. When I returned to Canada, I taught english in a private French school in Ottawa for one year. For the past few months, I've been helping out my sister-in-law once a week with her infant twins. Changing, feeding, bathing, and educational play are very natural to me. And dealing with tantrums, fussy eaters, and bedtime reluctance are a welcome challenge. I understand and respect the child's developing mind and social skills, and am happy to be a guide in the process of learning. I am quite creative and love doing art projects and baking and cooking with kids(if that should interest you). I am currently studying the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, and planning to begin part time teacher training in the fall. I've worked professionally as a waitress in fine-dining restaurants for a few years, but need a break from the high stress of the industry, so I've recently taken a lunch-serving job 4 days a week. I believe I will be finishing work around 3pm each day.
