Hi! My name is Courtney and I am a very experienced, loving care giver for children of all ages. I have been babysitting for over 4 years. I have experience working in a preschool with children who were 6 weeks-5 years old. I was in an infant aged classroom(6weeks-12months) for 1 year and then moved into a toddler classroom(12 months-2years) for a year and a half. While in the infant room I was responsible for: Changing diapers feeding bottles following each child's schedule making sure they were well taken care of I went above and beyond with these infant teaching them things such as sign language (as young as 6 months) Speaking small words become familiar with letter sounds. baby yoga physical skills For example: standing, walking, running, and jumping. While working with the toddlers in my class I was in charge of putting together lesson plans that covered literature, cognitive development, physical education, yoga Spanish sign language self help listening skills. I was also in charge of changing diapers and starting potty training. I kept the children engaged in age appropriate activities that were not only fun but educational. I learned how these children work and how to redirect instead of punish when doing something wrong. While working at the preschool I was required to have a continuing education on early childhood education. These courses and workshops included Sids Special needs speech therapy first aid how to read a child how to react to children who seem to misbehave more often than others Along with working at the preschool i babysat frequently, and worked at LifeTime Fitness in the child centre. I was a supervisor on weekends and some weekday evenings. Children ranged from 3 months-12 years in this centre. My job was to keep each child engaged in age appropriate activities. Some of the older kids, 9-12, would like to play games such as soccer, basketball, dodgeball, kickball etc. Some of the children 5-8 were interested in playing on the playground, playing tag, hide n seek, dancing to music, yoga, and completing Obstacle courses that i had put together for them. Younger children and toddlers were into things that were more hands on for the teachers such as art, bubbles, puzzles, reading, singing etc. I have comfortably worked with children of all ages. I was a nanny for two children 8 months and 2 and a half. I was putting together lesson plans and following a schedule that i put together for the children. With the two year old girl, i spent a lot of time working on colours, numbers, letters, animals, vehicles, outside places, and simple name to face flashcards for the first couple of weeks. Within the first week i was there, i had potty trained a little girl who has never before showed interest in using the potty. Her vocabulary and personality exploded within the first month. The baby boy was a very picky person when it came to who he wanted to be around and he couldnt get enough of me. I became a part of their family so quickly. The baby was starting to sit up, crawl, and very quickly starter to stand up on things. before he was 10 months old he knew about 5 different words in sign language. He knew how to play peek a boo, how to blow kisses, how to say mama, ball, daddy, sleep, and milk. Shortly after i started, the parents had given me permission to take the children to fun and educational places such as the Zoo, aquarium, children museum, heart museum, the park, etc. I am a very trustworthy person and have been around so many children of all ages.
