Nanny in Brantford, Ontario

I'm an enthusiastic and outgoing person with considerable experience working with children! I live an active and social lifestyle, and strongly value my family life and relationships. Working with children has always been a passion of mine, which is why I chose to pursue an education in Child, Youth and Family studies at the University of Guelph. This program is accredited by the College of Early Childhood Educators, and I am now a Registered Early Childhod Educator. In September, I began my Masters of Science in Paediatric and Psychosocial Care at McMaster University. Although this is full time, it's primarily online meaning I have a very flexible schedule and am looking to fill it with part-time work as a nanny. I have ample and varying experience working with children of all abilities in different settings. My time spent as a lifeguard has equipped me with knowledge necessary to react in emergency and first aid situations, so you can rest assured know your little ones are safe with me. Throughout my education, I've completed three co-op work terms, two of which directly involved working closely alongside children and their families. I had the pleasure of working overseas for 4 months as a live-in nanny/au-pair to a family with 3 young children under the ages of 7, where I was responsible for full-time care of the 2 year-old as well as several house keeping duties. My second co-op position was at the Child Care and Learning Centre on campus, where I worked with toddlers from 18-30 months old, supervising and assisting the children and RECEs with daily programming tasks (i.e. Facilitating developmentally appropriate activities, managing behaviours, toileting) as well as performing housekeeping type duties. These skills were further built upon in my practicum, where I was responsible for developing and facilitating weekly programming within a classroom. I also have experience working with children as a figure skating coach at the Brant Skating Club and as a tutor with the Wellington Catholic District School Board. Lastly, my employment at Lansdowne Children's Centre for the past 4 years has allowed me to gain skills needed to work with children with exceptionalities and to manage challenging behaviours using practice-based strategies. I'm currently employed as their Community Camps Coordinator. I'm looking for part-time work throughout the week starting in or after November 2019. Willing to travel to cities outside Brantford (i.e. Ancaster, Cambridge). I have my own vehicle and can provide a criminal reference check if desired. I'm particularly experienced in working with very young children ages 1-5. Out of all my experiences in working with children, nannying has certainly been my favourite.
