Nanny in Waterloo, Ontario

Quick description: I have many years of childcare experience. In my early teens I worked child super vision (on festival rides) at major events/birthday parties and after school babysitting for children in my neighbourhood and my younger brother. -2016 I was a nanny/babysitter for a 1 year old little boy, my duties were preparing meals and General super vision. -2017 I was an au pair in Germany working 14/16h a day with a 1/2 year old girl. I was responsible for all childcare from morning wakeup to bedtime. I also did brief English tutoring/babysitting for an 8 year old boy with ADHD. -2018 I worked temporarily with a family of 5 but my contracted ended when they moved back to Europe. The youngest LO was around 5 months when I started working and the oldest, 3. My responsibilities included childcare, solid food feedings, nap supervision, and on occasion I’d help with meal prep as well. The eldest attended preschool most days but some times she’d be home so we’d spend the day playing together inside and outside, having lunch, and solving puzzles! - --... ( and occasional babysitting in 2022) I have been working long term with a truly awesome family. I will be going back to work for this family in February 2023. I was really heart broken when the girls went off to start their school journey BUT I do offer babysitting from time to time still for this family. When I started there was just one and she was 6 months old. I worked full time and did the usual duties. Childcare, dishes, general cleaning, laundry, lunches, naps etc. I worked with the mom to have a good sleep schedule for the LO (little one) so I have experience dealing with sleep training. I helped her through her first steps, first words, first teeth, and honestly it was so amazing to witness and share those moments with the family. We would go for daily walks (bring the dog along sometimes) explore wildlife, watch tadpoles, learn different bird species, go to parks, go to kindercafe, have playdates, and the occasional trip to the pool. In 2020 MB gave birth to a second beautiful baby girl and she would join us on our adventures (A LOT OF BABY WEARING LOL). So I have extra experience dealing with 2 under 2. Newborns, infant, and toddler age. I am comfortable working in pet friendly homes and I am comfortable picking up mild animal care duties as well (Letting dogs out/bringing them on walks during the day, feedings, keeping pet company during the day). About me: I can speak 2 languages. English and I hold an A1 German certificate recognized by all of the EU, (pretty much means legally I am recognized as a "basic" German speaker. Not too advanced, but also not clueless), since living in Germany I can speak at roughly A2.2/B1 level. Currently I am embarking on a new language journey and have started studying Japanese. I love all things art. I love digital art and more hands-on art like drawing, painting, photography, and filmography! I am quite a video game nerd in a sense that I can create 3D game characters from a single flat plane. I like to create scenery and open source worlds in blender, unity, adobe substance painter, and have slight experience with 3d animations. I also enjoy playing video games; mmorpgs, rhythm games, building simulators.. a love of music based games and games regarding visual creation. Dancing is a huge passion of mine. I'm self taught mostly in hip-hop style with some other genres sprinkled in but dancing is my preferred method of working out and staying active so I'm signed with a class based out of LA and learn and memorize different choreography sets. Dancing is probably my most practiced hobby as I do it on an almost daily basis. I will be attending school to become a paralegal in fall 2023. My expectations: I am looking for temporary placement until February 2023 when I will be going back to the family I have long term work with. I like the environment and relationship between parents and nanny to be professional but friendly! I like to be able to have open communication with parents during the workweek for example if LO does something cute or prideful during my working hours I'd like to feel comfortable enough to share it with you through text so that you can experience it too! If LO has accomplished something they find a lot of excitement through I want to be able to fill you in on it and have the comfortability to do so. I find that work environment to be the most positive and connected. I typically like to work 35 to 40h a week (maximum 45h), weekends free but willing to work occasional weekends, close to public transportation. Although because of it being temporary work I am also now open to taking part time jobs as well. I honestly love working with early childhood development stages so newborn to age 5 is my ideal since I'm most experienced with those age ranges. As I said before I have experience with pets so a family with pets is no issue. Typical Ont Employment standards act are expected to apply. I can provide a criminal check upon request and I have taken an advance nanny course in the past (which covers infant CPR) so I can provide that as well. Looking forward to hearing from you!
