Nanny in Guelph, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hello and thank you for taking time to view my profile! I would like to share with you a little about myself, my experience with children, and what kind of job I would love to serve in. I grew up in a family of four children and my mother operated a daycare from our home from the time I was about 5 years old until I was in high school. Being around children and caring for children has always been an enjoyable part of my life. I took a babysitters course when I was in grade 6 and started consistently babysitting for a family when I was about 13 years old. Over the next 20 years, I have had numerous babysitting jobs, as well as nanny positions in four families, and both paid and volunteer teaching roles (at an art school, and through my church). I also very much enjoy organizing and keeping living spaces tidy and clean. I am interested in nutrition and enjoy making healthy meals and snacks, especially with the participation of the children I care for. Some of the activities I love to do with children (depending on their age and ability) include playing outside (sports, games, bubbles, sandbox, pretend, parks, water play, etc.), puzzles and games, baking or cooking, drawing, painting, crafts, reading stories, taking trips to museums, libraries or science centres, and meeting up with friends for play dates. I tend to have a gentle manner, but also enjoy having fun and being active and silly with children. I have experience caring for children from new born up to 12 years old, and do my best to be responsive to each child's personality and interests. I have taken First Aid and CPR in the past, and am willing to take a refresher if my employer desires. I have held a valid drivers license for 18 years now, and feel comfortable driving as well as taking public transit with children. I do not have animal allergies, and have had experience working for families with cats and dogs. I would love a part-time live-out nanny position in Guelph or Wellington County for the remainder of the summer with the possibility of working longer into the fall. I am hoping for remuneration of $18.50-$22/hour depending on duties and number of children. If I sound like a good match for your family, please be in touch. I look forward to hearing from you!

Pam Johnston is an amazing childcare provider. She cared for my children at various time over the years from when my youngest was 13 months and my oldest was 3, up until they were 4 and 6. She is the most genuine, kind hearted and creative person I have ever met and any family that she works with is extremely fortunate to have her! My children loved every day spent with Pam. From adventures at the park, exploring in nature, baking or working on creative projects, she does it all, and does it with a smile! I highly recommend Pam!

Pam Johnston was our life-saver. She was our nanny for 10 months for our 2 year old son. During her time with us, she was mindful of caring for our son physically, socially and emotionally. She is gentle & kind, mature & trustworthy, creative and flexible. She not only cared for our extremely active and energetic 2 year old boy, but helped keep our family organized, well fed and my pregnant self rested and relaxed. During her time, she helped us move and spent naptime packing and labelling boxes. I was pregnant with our daughter for much of the year while Pam was our nanny and Pam adjusted seamlessly to the craziness of our move and adding an infant into the mix. She was eager to help in any way and allowed myself the chance to adjust to being a mom of 2 in our new home and neighbourhood. She is assertive and resourceful and always had excellent care-giver instincts for engaging and appropriate activities and adventures for my child. She assisted with cooking and cleaning and general running of the household while paying great deal of attention to detail and priorities. I would highly recommend Pam as your family nanny. She became like family and cared for us with genuine love and care.

Having known Pam for over 15 years, I can certainly vouch for her noble and professional character. She is honest, hardworking and goes above and beyond what most people would do. For example, she once invited our family over for a meal. While the food was delicious, the best part was she had also come up with lots of fun little activities to do with the children, including making GIANT bubbles in the backyard. She loves playing with the kids, but is also able to maintain order with the children so that things don't get out of hand. The children love and respect her. Pam is cheerful, kind and full of energy. My two eldest children (5 & 3) both absolutely LOVE seeing Pam and hanging out with her. If too much time goes between seeing her, the kids start asking when they will get to see her next and wonder where she is! Anybody who knows Pam is blessed to have her in their life. 5 yo daughter's review: "I like Pam because she plays with me." 3 yo son's review: "I just like her. I just like going to her house."
