Hello! My name is Juli and I am 17 year old high school student. I am trilingual and am able to speak English, Spanish and French as well as teach these languages. I was born in Colombia and came to Canada as a child and I have been doing various things to be part of my community. I have gone on the Summer Work Student Exchange trip to Quebec and worked in a Day Camp in Sherbrooke. I have worked as well at STEM Camp as a summer camp counsellor and teacher STEM related activities. Currently, I am a part-time cooking instructor for the City of London. I have four years of experience with working with kids form the ages 3-17 and I am First Aid and CPR certified. I also am certified with the City of London's High Five training for child development. My goal is to work with children to inspire them with ambition to reach their goals. I aim to have a memorable wonderful experience with the family that takes me in as their Nanny because I love working with kids and becoming their friends and confidents. As a Nanny, I will not only take care of your children but I will also play games that help develop the confidence in children. I am an energetic person with lots or organized creative games and activities as well as I am able to help with homework.

I supervised Juli at STEM Camp in her role of Camp Counsellor last summer, and I am pleased to offer a recommendation for her. Juli was a pleasure to work with. She exemplified a dedicated team-player by being prepared for work, organized, and willing to help other staff. Her professional and committed attitude made me confident in her abilities to supervise the campers, and, indeed, on many occasions I observed her great group management skills – she enforced expectations for safety (e.g. kept her group together), stepped in to help campers resolve conflict when necessary, and praised good behavior. Furthermore, Juli brought some great games to camp that quickly became favourites of the kids'. The campers responded really well to her pleasant attitude, high expectations, and creative games. When issues arose, Juli was great about debriefing with myself and speaking with parents about strategies for helping the campers, and would follow-up with us on progress. Her attitude and work ethic are truly commendable.

As the Camp Director of STEM Camp in the summer of 2016, I was fortunate to have Juli as one of my camp counselors. In this role, Juli was responsible for the safety, well being and learning of ten campers every week. With each week came a new group of campers that Juli oversaw, ranging in age from five to thirteen years old. Beyond her immediate duties with the children, Juli was also an integral part of the staff who assisted in cleaning the work area, discussing ways to improve our program at staff meetings and coming up with new activities for the children to enjoy. One of the things that impressed me most about Juli was her maturity which is well beyond that of other peers her age. While she was the youngest of the staff, it never seemed that way when working with Juli. She dealt with problems head on, was extremely hard-working and was always open to feedback. Juli was always looking to better herself and showed tremendous growth over the course of the summer. It is a pleasure to recommend Juli who was a very strong employee with STEM Camp this summer. Through her hard work and high levels of proficiency in this position, I am certain that she will succeed in all her future endeavors.
