Hello! ***I’m not currently looking for work, as I have a less than one-year-old of my own*** I am a 28-year-old young woman who is looking to help and provide the best possible care to your children. I have lots of volunteer experience from volunteering at KidsAbility for over 6 years, working with children of various age groups and with diverse abilities. I have also spent much of that time working with children in 1:1 settings. Some of the needs and abilities that experience with are: Cystic Fibrosis, Downs Syndrome and Autism. I did a special training while also volunteering at KidsAbility called Autism Behaviour Intervention, which was learning how to better assist children in their growing, development and how to understand a child who is struggling with self-regulating or self-control. I’ve also worked on a part-time basis, in someone's home working with a 16 year old boy with Autism. I was able to work on his homework with him, provide fun games, and would plan things according to his understanding, developmental levels and plan things according to his interests. I'm energetic, I love children, and I have the ability to plan activities for the children that I work with (based on their level of interest as well as also letting the child(ren) have and create their own fun) while allowing for child-directed play, but intervening when necessary. Being as I'm in the field of Education, I want to provide the best possible care for you and your child(ren). I enjoy working with children, I love seeing the way that their minds work and seeing them for being curious, competent and capable. My hope is to make a difference in the lives of many children, to watch them grow and develop. I have my First Aid and CPR Level C. All of my vaccinations are also up to date.
