Nanny in Toronto

Dear Parents, I am writing to outline my unique experiences with caring for children and successful academic track record in the field of children with special needs. I believe I possess the qualifications, along with significant skills and experiences necessary to make an impactful contribution to a childs at-home care experience. With a BA in Child Development, I am currently qualified to be employed as an early childhood assistant. I am also eligible, and currently in the process of becoming a registered early childhood educator. As a child development specialist, I possess extensive creativity in developing appropriate learning experiences and proficient organization strategies to maintain the daily routine. I have a proven ability in providing culturally sensitive care, and promoting the inclusion of children with special needs in camp activities. Last summer I spent the entire four months of my summer break working full-time in two very different child care settings. In the two years previous, I had also worked full-time at a locally operated summer camp in the community I originally lived in. I now wish to utilize my skills further in the field, by focusing my care on a child who needs an enthusiastic and trustworthy adult caregiver. I am a very adaptable however, my versatility in working with various age groups has helped me to thrive in any job where I have had the fortuity to help children achieve their very best. On that note, I am very flexible about setting an interview at short notice. Please do not hesitate to call me so we can arrange an interview and learn more about each other. Yours Sincerely, Caitlyn Merrithew As a long time babysitter, I started babysitting at the age of 12 for close family members and neighbours who had toddlers, or school age children. In high school, I started babysitting several different families who had connected with me through the recommendation of other parents. In my graduating year of high school, I became a regular nanny for a family who at the time had two young girls (2 and 4 years old). Over the past five years, I have also cared for their newborn and remained a close friend. When I started my degree program in Child Development, I started to get placement opportunities in different child care centres within North York and Toronto. As a student Early Childhood Educator, I have had volunteer experiences with toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners (inlcuding children with autism), and school age. Last summer I completed summer co-op term by working full-time in United Kingdom as a camp coach in a summer camp called Camp Beaumont. My role was to care for the pastoral needs of fifteen children, who all came from different countries. I loved this job because I had the opportunity to work with children from so many different backgrounds, and I communicated well non-verbally with children who had limited English speaking abilities. I am a hard worker, who loves being a play partner to young children and is always willing to work overtime to support the welfare of families and the children in my care.
