***I am no longer seeking a position, and will not be checking my inbox on a regular basis*** I just moved to Toronto from Halifax, and am starting Social Work at Toronto Metropolitan University this fall. I am looking to work 25-30 hours per week while in school, and can work full-time in the spring and summer. I have six years of experience working as an Early Childhood Educator with children aged 10mo-9yo. I am returning to school to become a Registered Play Therapist, and Child and Family Therapist. I work to provide anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming care to the children and families I work with. I am a skilled facilitator, and can provide high-quality, play-based learning that is tailored to your child's interests and needs. I am an active person who can keep up with, and entertain younger children, and enjoy facilitating outdoor activities and adventures. I have excellent communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills, and genuinely enjoy working with children with challenging behaviours or extra support needs. I emphasize social-emotional development in my practice, and am proud to support the children I work with in becoming kind, thoughtful and empathetic people. In my spare time I enjoy powerlifting, cooking, and baking. I love working with pastry, and nothing makes me happier than feeding people. I can provide high-quality childcare, as well as light housekeeping and meal prep. I am more than comfortable working with and taking care of animals as well.
