Overview: Hi there! My name is Elise and I come with more than twelve years experience working with children and youth in various capacities, ranging in ages from one to 14 years. I recently completed my Master of Teaching degree at OISE (focused on elementary-middle school grades). I am comfortable and have experience working with many types of people and communities, including single parent and LGBTQ families. ***At the moment, I am looking for positions with parents/caregivers who would like curriculum support for their children, and those requiring virtual school assistance (eg. someone to assist kids while they attend virtual school, whether with focus, or extra help in certain subject areas - or anything else!) I am also available for various types of tutoring (please see below CV section for past experience details)*** PLEASE NOTE: **I am not in a position to accept jobs paying less than $18/hr.** Services And Training: In addition to my degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at U of T, I have worked for over a decade in both personal childcare and other capacities, including teaching courses at several progressive Jewish Sunday Schools, at youth leadership conferences, and in several afterschool programs. I have experience working with kids of various ages, from one to fourteen, including those enrolled in Special Education streams, and English Language Learners. Currently, I work part-time doing online tutoring focused mainly on helping students who need assistance with Language Arts / English, specifically those reading below grade level (for reasons including dyslexia and various other cognitive and learning differences). I am also in the process of completing an Elementary Special Education AQ (Additional Qualification) course. I play violin and guitar, and enjoy playing and listening to music with children, something that I think can be both fun and therapeutic for kids with a variety of needs. I have an interest in food and nutrition, and in addition to past food preparation - related jobs, I have also taken culinary skills courses at George Brown College's chef school.
