Nanny in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia

I love children and my job currently requires me to work them every day (I work for the City of Port Coquitlam). I teach children how to skate and bike ride, as well as monitor them/play with them during camps and at the pool. These jobs have taught me the skills required to keep a child entertained by coming up with creative activities that are both educational and fun. I have taken a course called High Five that taught me how to gain respect from kids without heavy discipline and how to be a responsible, caring adult. I have done volunteer work with the COAST program at Gleneagle Secondary and that consisted of twenty-four volunteers each getting four middle school students and teaching them how to canoe, how to camp safely and how to pitch a tent, but also cook and clean. COAST included a course on nutrition, as that was one of our main priorities to help keep our energy. I am very comfortable in a kitchen as I have taken Foods 11, have my FoodSafe and also had to cook in the wilderness. I also preformed housekeeping duties at the Port Coquitlam arena, that includes mopping and vacuuming and cleaning the counters. Also, I have experience babysitting my younger cousins as well as children around the neighborhood, the youngest being 1 years old and my mother ran a daycare out of our home for several years. I was also a tutor and am able to help with gradeschool homework as well. I have my High Five certification, Standard First Aid, and FoodSafe level 1 certificate.
