Overview: Hi! My name is Kelly. I am a graduate of Social Work and Disability Studies (2022). I am also a registered social worker. I'm seeking a child carer or companion/caregiver placement in St Pascal, Clarence Creek, Rockland or other surrounding areas. I'm hoping to apply the skills I have developed as child carer, support worker, and social worker. Service Abilities: I have experience working with children, adults, and teens with disabilities, aswell as other vulnerable populations. This includes folks with addiction, trauma and people experiencing homelessness. I have experience caring for children and assisting children with online school and homework tutoring by aiding in various subject areas such as math, reading, writing, art, music and science. Through this, I was able to organize educational sessions for asynchronous learning to best meet the individual child's learning styles. I have experience preparing and supervising mealtimes and snacks with nutritious food selections. Throughout my childcare positions, I have also worked with parents to address behavioural, emotional, and learning challenges and helped in creating learning plans for the children. In addition, throughout my childcare position, I attended to regular household duties such as dishes, laundry, cooking, and cleaning the house. I have diverse experience working with adults with disabilities in group home settings. This included those with low-medical support needs. My responsibilities included administering medications, navigating various behaviours and following behavioural plans and documenting to ensure each individual is best supported. This also consisted of social outings in the community and assisting individuals with personal care as needed.
