Nanny in Langford, British Columbia

Hello I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my sincere interest in the positions of nanny, private educator, and/ or house manager. I combine the Montessori Method and the Reggio Emilia Approach in my work with children. Recognizing the significant responsibility that comes with being a nanny, I am dedicated to providing patience, care, education and fun. Please allow me to introduce myself to your family. I was born and raised in China before immigrating to Canada with my family in 2010. Growing up in a nurturing middle-class household taught me the importance of creating a caring environment for children. As a creative and compassionate early childhood educator, I have been directly involved with children and families since 2012. I enjoy incorporating guitar and piano playing, singing, and dancing into interactions with children. I am also a certified 200-hour Yoga and 60-hour Pilates instructor, adding to my ability to engage children in various activities. I graduated from UVic in 2022 with a Bachelor of Child and Youth Care. Over the past decade, I have held roles such as daycare teacher, Montessori educator, summer camp leader for youth, Mandarin/Math/English tutor, and fitness instructor for various age groups. I've also worked as a babysitter and have a fondness for animals, having cared for a Golden Retriever. Additionally, I assisted my parents in their restaurant, working as a manager, kitchen helper and waitress. I like to create a system (organize) and then maintain a habit of tidying up while working, as I believe that the environment—both at home and work—profoundly impacts physical and mental well-being. In summary, my education and experiences have shaped me into a capable nanny. I am warm, caring, and consistently friendly. With excellent interpersonal skills, I communicate clearly and concisely. I am a dedicated and dependable worker who excels both independently and within a team. Allow me to provide an update on my current situation: I am presently employed full-time at a daycare in Langford from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, I work at the Child Care Resource and Referral Centres. Starting December 4, 2023, I will be attending school with classes scheduled from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Therefore, I am seeking a part-time role after school hours to support myself financially during my studies. My expected hourly rate is $30.
