Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hello Parents, My background as a nanny is extensive and I can't remember a job where I didn't hold back tears when we had to say good-bye. Each stage of childhood development has milestones that fascinate me. I truly enjoy and appreciate when a family trusts me to care for their kids. About me: Fun: - I can't resist a spontaneous dance party. - I am known to indulge in a splash pad soak with the kids, just to get a laugh. - My dino roar is on point. Careful: - Mask wearing, hand washing and disinfecting are just part of life now. I don't take chances when it comes to pandemic precautions. - First-hand experience with children who have life-threatening allergies (peanuts, sesame, tree nuts) - If a child becomes ill in my care, I know what to look out for and how to respond from experience. Handy: - Can prepare many different types of food for special diets (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, you name it). - I have perfected a green smoothie recipe that no kid can resist *opaque container sometimes required*. - Playgrounds closed? Lock down strategies include: running children up hills, make giant bubble solution, craft ideas galore, master LEGO building, etc. Active: - Enjoy being on the move and only use my bike for transportation, apart from the occasional Uber ride. - I can lift up to 50lbs. - I really enjoy baby wearing - they have a way of completing an outfit :) Special Needs: - I have cared for and supported a child on the Autism spectrum for several years, which has been equal parts challenging and rewarding. - Same goes for ADHD. - Familiar with techniques to manage sensory input and have put them into practice many times. Tech-Savvy - I am a software engineering graduate (Centennial College). - Cannot work in the field right now. Work History: Job 1: Three children, often 24-hour care for parents who traveled. Ages 9, 7 and 4 years Job 2: Two children, live-in, household management, groceries, meal prep, etc. Ages 8 and 5 years Job 3: Two children, live-out, daycare pick-up/drop-off, meal prep, laundry Ages 4 months and 3.5 years Job 4: One child, live-out, strictly childcare. Age 1 month - 10 months Best Job Ever: Along came my little guy, almost 7 years old now (shared custody) Job 5: Two children, live-out, my own child and theirs. Early Years daily, pet-care Ages 14 and 18 months. Job 6: One child, live-out, outings to give parents a break from active child. Age 9 months.
