Hello, my name is Drew! I am a 23 year-old student, studying Early Elementary Education at the University of Calgary. Prior to pursuing teaching, I graduated from Bishop’s University (2022) with a degree in psychology. I hope to use my knowledge of childhood development to help meet the social and emotional needs of your child(ren) while creating lifelong memories. My experience nannying in the past was an incredible opportunity that provided me so much joy! In my past work as a nanny, ski instructor, camp counsellor and through my extensive volunteer experience with the Big Buddies mentorship program, I've learnt the importance of patience and accommodating individual needs. I’ve always loved the fun and light hearted energy kiddos radiate, it serves as a reminder to not take life too seriously! My goal in joining your family would be to act as a mentor and give your child(ren) support and security allowing them to learn and explore the world around them! I am also around to help lighten the load with light household chores, transportation to extracurricular activities, help with homework or anything else your family might need. I understand how much you open your home and hearts during this process, and I hope to make this transition as seamless and comfortable as possible. That being said I am a full time student with availability varying by semester - including a few weeks of full time practicum placement. If your family has the opportunity for some flexibility (I know my school schedule well in advance), I would love to have a transparent conversation about finding a schedule that works best for everyone.
