Nanny in Victoria, British Columbia

Hello Victoria & Esquimalt Parents! I am an experienced childcare provider in the Victoria area looking for summer employment doing what I love, hanging out with kids! My experience with children and childcare begins with the family I was born into. I am one of 9 children, 5 of whom are younger then I am. In this large family setting I was raised with a love for children as well as an understanding for the fun, chaotic and fast-paced environment children provide. Because of my family dynamic I have been babysitting my own siblings since the age of twelve, and branching out to other babysitting jobs by thirteen. I have babysat, as well as worked in the restaurant industry continuously ever since. From there, I worked as a live-out nanny for a wonderful family with 3 kids, all under the age of 5, while I went through High School. After graduating grade 12 I took a year off and worked as a full time nanny for two beautiful children. The reason I took this year off was so that I could save enough money to afford to go to school to get my BA at the UofC. Throughout the 4 years of my undergraduate degree I continued to nanny for the family part-time during the school year and full time in the summers. Hopefully my long winded description has convinced you to continue reading this profile. If it has not, as a last ditch effort, just know that I am a trained in CPR, I have valid Food Safe, I am highly athletic with eminence amounts of energy, I have my drivers license and a clean driving record, and lastly I have experience tutoring, I have worked as an assistant in an after-school care program at an elementary school, and I completed University with a 3.9 GPA in my first year of university. Finally, pets, food preparation, and minor transportation are all an expected part of the job in my books! Now, what I am looking for! I am mainly looking to provide part-time/occasional childcare at this point in time. I am hoping to find a family to supplement another part time job that I have until the beginning of September. Therefore, throughout the summer I am looking for date night/weekend work, I can also provide childcare during the day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Lastly, the elephant in the room.. wages! I am an incredibly experienced child care provider and am currently paid 24$/hour and my other jobs, and would like to maintain this. For this rate I guarantee: always being on time for work, flexibility with parents running a little late on date night, always cleaning up after messes made by the children, with the children's help. cleaning up additional mess around the house whenever possible. Always leaving the kitchen clean. A willingness to assist with laundry. Helping with meal prep. Being totally capable to prepare dinner for the children on date nights. ability to assist in homework help. Lastly, staying off of electronics while with the children (this includes my own phone, as well as not just sticking the kids in front of a TV). I currently live in Vic West and have a valid drivers license. I occasionally have access to a car, which I share with my partner.
