I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Conestoga College in 1998 and since then have worked as an Early Childhood Educator. Over my 18 years as an ECE, I have gained valuable experience while working within various child care settings. I am also a registered member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators. I use my education and wealth of experience to provide high quality, educational programs. I have also had the honour of being recognized by my peers in receiving an award of Professionalism for my work in Haldimand and Norfolk Counties. Through my work experiences and education I am able to plan and implement age appropriate activities for a wide range of age groups. I believe in the importance of professional development, and actively attend workshops and conferences to keep me up to date with the changing trends and curriculum within my field. Through these workshops, I have learned the importance of literacy for young children as well as the importance of play based learning. I look forward to implementing what I have learned in these workshops in the Early Learning Program. I have proven through my work experience that I am an advocate of the inclusive classroom setting where all children have the ability to learn and develop to their highest potential. When planning programs, I include activities that are beneficial to all of the developmental levels and needs of the children within my care. I am computer literate and work fluently with Microsoft Office (Word, & Excel), as well as Corel Word Perfect Suite, QuickBooks, and website design . I also have the responsibility to update our centres website, prepare and distribute invoices and newsletters, and update our daily blog. I strive on building a positive rapport with my co-workers, parents, and community partners. I have attended workshops to enhance my communication skills.
