Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

I just started my Master's in Counselling Psychology (September 2023). My long-term goal is to be a child development psychologist specializing in executive dysfunction disorders and cognitive disabilities. I am very passionate about promoting Montessori style care although I am not formally trained. I currently nanny for one household full time Monday-Friday until 5:30 PM for a 3 year old girl. Previously I supported two households, one with 9 and 11-year siblings and another with a 3-year-old and 1-year old siblings (began when the infant was 5 month old). I sometimes bring my sweet pugs Honey and Walter who the kids love to play with (this is optional depending on your preference, of course). I love animals, especially dogs - I have been a part-time dog sitter for the past 7 years the Rover app maintaining very high reviews. My responsibilities currently include morning routine and planning outings/activities. Previously I did morning and bedtime routines, planning activities, meal prep, driving to school and sports, house cleaning, pet sitting, watching the children while the parents are away and traveling with the family to support with nannying. I have extensive youth engagement experience in the Hamilton/Burlington community. Some examples include a 4-year mentorship through Big Brothers Big Sisters, a two-year position on The City of Hamilton Youth Strategy Board, and running Ontario-wide YMCA youth development conferences. I moved to the Ottawa area September 1st, 2023. I would like to maintain nannying to gain more experience with children while specializing in child development. I live near Parliament in Centertown. I have CPR and First Aid with Child and Infant Capabilities, G Class license, Awareness: New Parent Training (diabetic emergency, seizure, fevers, asthma, anaphylactic, burns, poison exposure), Opioid Response Training, Mental Health Crisis Training and Pet CPR. I can provide you with an up-to-date vulnerable sector and police check upon request. References from current Nanny positions also available upon seriously considering requests. My rate is $23 per hour for 1 child, $25 per hour for 2 children, $30 per hour for 3 children. I require rare flexibility around my assignments which I will inform you of 6 weeks in advance.
