Personal Information: I am an outgoing, energetic individual, with a B.A. from Brock University. My interests include baking, reading and knitting. In my own family, I have a ten-year old half brother, as well as a four-year old niece. Experience: Girl Guides of Canada I was the responsible guider for the 70th London Brownies. I worked with the other leaders to deliver a fun, non-competitive program to the girls that delivers education, co-operation and enjoyment. I was also the First Aid guider in the group. I was been a Girl Guide leader for five years, three in the Niagara area, and two in London. Grimsby Museum I was the Museum Education and Special Event Assistant for the Grimsby museum in Niagara. My primary responsibilities included creating and running the program from a schedule set out by the Special Event Manager. Using the schedule, I created an educational program around the theme of the camp, including information, crafts, experiments and games. I was also responsible for assisting with the management of the camp volunteers. Drama Teacher/Camp Counsellor As a drama teacher for O’Leary’s School of Drama (Now Act 1) in Pickering, ON my primary responsibilities were to develop a program emphasizing creative expression for the children aged 5-12. Through the weekly classes, the children began with exploring drama games and some theory, and progressed to line memorization and in-depth self-expression. I also created the play performed at the end of the year by the students. As camp counselor, I was responsible for the safety and well-being for the children in the camp setting. The days followed a set schedule according to theme, with a skit performed by each group every day, culminating in a talent show at the end of every two-week period. Babysitter As a babysitter for two families while in high school, I looked after a family of three, as well as a newborn. For the family of the three, I utilized a chore schedule set out by the parents, helped with homework and made lunches. I also helped out on weekends, taking the children to various community events. I cared for the newborn, Catherine, for a period of three hours once per week. My primary responsibilities were taking her outside, playing with her indoors and putting her to bed. In university, I babysat for the Cecchini family with three children. It was an on-call position, usually weekends and occasional weekdays.
