Nanny in Burnaby, British Columbia

I am a 29-year old registered nurse from NSW, Australia. I relocated to Canada in 2018 on what was supposed to be a one year working holiday as a nanny. During that time I met and married a Canadian citizen and gained permanent residency (PR). I now live in Burnaby, BC with my husband and our two cats, Gus and Leif. I have been out of paid work for around 18 months due to Covid-19 related delays in my PR application. While my initial plan was to return to nursing after regaining working status in Canada, the pandemic has made me reevaluate the kind of work I want to do. I loved my time nannying in Vancouver so much that I have decided to return to childcare for the foreseeable future. As a nurse and nanny, I have experience caring for infants through to those at end of life. I am an intuitive carer and find the skills that I have gained in caring for those with cognitive impairments and dementia directly transferable to children and infants. I am proficient in understanding body language and non verbal cues, know the value of intentional play and recognize the importance of managing sensory overload. I am also kind, respectful and always lead with compassion. I have built excellent working relationships and friendships with previous families I have worked for.
